TaroScopic Report for April 2010

Written by Sherry Westerfield

HEAVENLY NOTES:

Full Moon in Libra

Monday, March 29, 7:27 pm PDT, 10:27 pm EDT

Libra desires peace and tends to calm the hot-tempered Aries sun, and how do they say that? The needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few?

Pluto Retrograde Tuesday April 6th

Pluto goes retrograde for a 5 month cycle. For some this may dredge up some old wounds. How do you heal old wounds? Visit it, feel it, own it, forgive it, forgive the other person(s), forgive yourself, let it go, and say, “Holding on to this pain is negative energy that no longer serves my higher purpose, and I release it now.” If you catch yourself dwelling on something negative, repeat this affirmation, and you will be amazed how quickly miracles can happen for you.

TAROSCOPIC REPORT APRIL 2010

Aries-Page of Cups (rev)…Happy Birthday, Aries!

I have to do this as honestly as I  would if I were reading for you personally. The Page of Cups for  you in THIS month is a warning not to procrastinate or become self-centered and spoiled because it’s your birthday…no kidding.  In other words, don’t act like a big baby. Sorry!  I still love ya’! J On the bright side, the Page of Cups encourages you to use your forward-thinking mind to create something wonderful or start something new and uniquely you, NOW. Daydreaming is the beginning of action…this is the month to take action!  This is also the right time to get started back on that exercise routine. Vigorous exercise for Aries is the best medicine for stress, irritability,  and tension related pain.  For relaxation, a bath in honeysuckle and rosemary is ideal to settle Aries‘  jumpy nerves.

Taurus-Six of Swords

The six of swords is good news! It says you are on your way out of a difficult time and you’ll be back to peace and harmony again in no time!  Take care of yourself so that you’ll be able to forge on through.  Taurus should add a handful of almonds to your diet each day, and a bath spiked with spearmint leaves or a spearmint scrub for your feet will perk you up for the journey ahead!

Gemini-Ten of Swords

Your plans may get ruined, but all is not lost- everything happens for a reason. Get up, look towards the horizon, see that tomorrow is another day, and move forward. Good things can come out of even the worst of situations. Luck will be with you in financial matters this month.

It’s spring, and you are particularly susceptible to bronchitis & upper respiratory ailments. Stock up on your allergy meds & other preventative measures.  Lavender is highly recommended for Gemini to soothe achy muscles and for deep relaxation.

Cancer--Temperance

The Temperance card IS the card for Cancer and I see it as a good sign that I drew this card for you. Because Cancer is naturally a moody sign, the Temperance card tells me that you will be able to keep it all together this month.  Things that would normally have you pacing the floor won’t get to you right now. You are strong, and this time you are ready for anything. A piece of moonstone in your pocket or can enhance your already  strong  psychic ability. That favorite string of pearls is not just for decoration. Cancers are prone to gastric disorders -indigestion--ulcers--and pearls can tackle those problems as well as calm the mind.  At times when your last nerve has just been invaded, a cup of balm tea will do the trick.

Leo-The Tower  XVI (rev)-

There is not much good news with the Tower, either upright or reversed, there is going to be an upset…in reverse, possibly to a lesser degree.  The good news is, that there was a need for a change and now you have it. If your intentions and actions have been pure, you’re alright. If you’ve set out to do wrong, your actions will be revealed. Check your course before you cause your own downfall. Leos can use a piece of jewelry made of gold and jasper to maintain a happy outlook and to clear the road for success.

Virgo-Three of cups (rev)--

Oh no, Virgo! Are you keeping your talents hidden? What are you afraid of? You not supposed to hide your light under a bush! Yes, the light will get you noticed, but you are a perfectionist!  Have you forgotten how to play? Are you taking life too seriously? Get out, have fun, make new friends and get noticed. Just don’t over indulge in the vino! Take time to stop and smell the azaleas, and don‘t forget to appreciate and celebrate YOU!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Libra-The Ace of Wands-

The Ace of Wands is the card of a new beginning. It could be a new job, an impromptu trip, or an unexpected flirtation, but there is definitely something great in the air.  Be open and expectant to new ideas and unfamiliar avenues. My daily affirmation is, “I am open to miracles in my life every day.” I suggest this affirmation to everyone because I PROMISE it works, but you guys need to keep an EXTRA eye open for opportunity this month. Grab a piece of citrine and keep it next to your skin or in your pocket. It’s a prosperity stone and especially good for Libra. Also, I suggest planting something this spring, even if it’s just a little chia herb garden, it will be great for you.  Daisies, mint, parsley, roses, potatoes, lilies, foxglove, & artichokes are some suggestions that Libras are naturally attracted to.

Scorpio-Six of Cups-

You’re going to be in the right place at the right time and something you want or need will appear when you least expect it!  This card is especially favorable for financial windfalls. God works in mysterious ways, so repeat the affirmation I gave Libra several times a day and believe to see! Don’t spend this month pining away for what once was, look toward the future because a gift is on its way to you.  Foods spiked with plenty of garlic and basil will make you feel like a spring chicken!

Sagittarius-Ten of Cups-

The Ten of Cups speaks of lasting happiness, goals achieved, actually the whole ball of wax that is basically what everyone wants. It may not be easy, but keep trying, you’re about to get there. Enjoy the beauty of spring, delight in your successes, look forward to love and happiness, and celebrate life. Carry obsidian to deflect negativity. Monitor your thoughts and oust your own negativity, as well. “Life is good. Crazy, but good.”

Capricorn-Queen of Wands-

If it’s romance you’re trying to attract, this month could be especially favorable for you. The Queen of Wands is always on her A Game, so affairs in business and love will go well for you.  Be ready for a surprise, love might come back from the past. Tiger eye will help Capricorn attract wealth and retain it, as well. Garnet will help you attract love.  Spinach, beets, cabbage and kale for extra energy this month. Let me know what happens! I’m intrigued!

Aquarius-The King of Wands-

This king is in great shape-mind, body, and spirit. He’s the property owner, the business man, the leader; he’s always ahead of the wave. The card for you portends a good month in business, new ventures, and new contacts. Forge ahead with your ideas. Keep some hematite in your pocket to give you personal magnetism and to energize you. If you can’t get pomegranates fresh, get some pomegranate juice and drink it. You’ll love the boost it gives you.

Pisces-The Universe (World)-Spring is a special time for Pisces, as we are born just before the Spring, it is ALWAYS a time of renewal for us. The Universe card represents the beginning of a new cycle, so it is quite an appropriate card to have pop up here. Don’t look back at the Winter, Pisces, look toward the Summer. Recreate yourself just as you would like for yourself to be. You have only to act upon your daydreams to make it happen. Stay in touch with your spiritual and creative nature, no matter what your business may be. One of those kelp treatments at the spa will bring you back to yourself if you're still feeling sluggish.

That’s it for April’s TaroScopic report. Hope you enjoyed it-comments and suggestions welcome!

Why have your chart done? Part 1

Why HaveMy Chart Done? Part 1

Most people know what their “sun sign” is, but how many people know what their entire chart is comprised of? How will it help to know these things about yourself? The moon and other planets are also in a sign at the time of your birth and reflect the many other nuances of your personality. Here is a look at how the “personal planets” can reflect your personality.

Astrology is more than just some horoscope in the newspaper, it teaches you about yourself and others. It teaches tolerance and understanding of yourself and others. Consulting a good astrologer and learning these things, plus the transits which show you the cycles of your life can help you tremendously. Explore your own chart to understand yourself–then explore the charts of others with whom you interact. When you reach this level of understanding, you getahead of the game. First, lets take a look at what the “personal planets ”reflect in your chart:

TheSun-The sun reflects what a person is striving to become–your motivating force. It corresponds to the masculine principle of your personality. IE; your will power-purpose-growth-what makes you unique-courage-your authority-the father figure-the adult ruler of your nature. By understanding the sun’s influence in your chart and how it is integrated with the other planetary influences, you will come to understand your strengths and challenges, therefore enabling yourself to rise to the occasion and get into alignment with YOURSELF. When you are operating at your full potential and going with the natural flow, life can be it’s most pleasurable. The other planets have little “jobs” to do, but the Sun in your chart will rule over how those “jobs” are done. This is another reason why its so important to understand the basics ofeach sign.

Ascendant-Your ascendant is calculated by the time and place of your birth-and is the exact degree of the sign rising over the eastern horizon at the time and place of birth.

Your ascendant represents your instinctive sense of yourself and how you may try to express it. They say the first impression is the most important one, and often the one that sticks. If you know how others perceive you, whether it’s the “real” you or not, you have an edge of self-awareness. The ascendant is the “mask” you wear. Your sun sign represents what you aspire to be.

The Moon-The moonreflects the light of the sun, as we all know; but how does it affect you individually? Where the Sun signifies ACTION, the moon’s affect is your REACTION. The moon reflects your instinctive, emotional response to your environment. As a result, moon by sign, house position and it’s aspects to the sun and other planets will tell you a great deal about your emotional development from childhood–it is your internal child. The moon also corresponds to the “feminine” aspects of your personality–the home environment-eating patterns-attitudes about your past- your sense of belonging- habits-imagination-changing moods-fortune-ability to reach the public-and the women in your life, esp. your mother.

Mercury-Mythologically speaking, Mercury was the “messenger of the gods.” Mercury is the planet of conscious thought and greater self-awareness. Mercury reflects the way we think and how we communicate. Mercury can show us our aptitude for learning, our inner-wisdom and self-knowledge. Mercury rules our rational-objective mind; early school experiences-forms of communication-languages-writing-reading-transportation and travel-debate & discussion-and the actual tools with which we communicate-books,newspapers, television, radio, internet, phones, etc.

Venus-Venus is named after the goddess of love. Venus was the epitome of beauty and sensuality. The sign your Venus is in can reflect your need for a relationship, harmony and affection in your life. It can show you what attracts and repels you, and how you respond to these influences.

Understanding the sign your Venus in can help you understand how you measure the importanceof things in your life—your needs. In terms of a love relationship, Venus shows you how you react when you meet LOVE–your ability to attract harmonious relationships. Understanding the sign your Venus is in can tell you a lot about the kind of relationship that will be the most satisfying to you.

Venus reflects our feminine sexuality, tastes, style, physical attraction, closepartnerships (with both women and men), physical well-being, vanity, diplomacy, money and other forms of exchange.

Mars-Mars, as we know, is “the god of war.” Mars in your chart shows you how you express yourself emotionally. How do you react when confronted? While Venus shows us what we value, mars shows us what we do to obtain and preserve what we value. If you know your mars’ sign, you have insight into how you go about achieving your desires, what gets you out of bed in the morning, and how you can enhance your self-image. Mars is how we assert ourselves, our initiative, our courage, our physical stamina, and how we rise to action. Mars represents sports, military affairs, men and male sexuality, panic, passion, frustration-tools of battle (guns, sharp objects, coercion)-fire, fever, selfish desires, anger, accidents and operations. If you understand your basic impulses and learn to control them and harness them, rather than become a slaveto them, you’ve got half the battle won!

December 7, 2009 King of Cups

Posted by anonymous on December 7, 2009 at 5:58 PM Comments comments (0)

I asked what guidance I should give today, and as I shuffled, the King of Cups jumped right out of the deck! When I see this card I think of things dealing with emotions and the subconscious. This card tells us that our connection with Source helps us to rise above our limitations if we will only open our hearts and minds. Look at yourself honestly and notice how your thoughts and feelings are affecting your life. Are you allowing your emotions to rule you? Remember, you feelings ARE your choice, and how you allow others to affect you is also your choice. Choose the best for yourself. If someone is not treating you the way you should be treated, it is your choice whether to settle for this or not. If your life is not what you want it to be, what choices can you make to change things for the better? Decide what you want for yourself and allow the Divine to work in your life to help you reach your goals in all aspects of your existence.

Today's AFFIRMATION is:

I am open to miracles in my life every day!

August 09 Week One Tarot Guidance--The World (Universe)

Posted by Sherry Westerfield-Purnell on August 3, 2009 at 4:42 AM Comments comments (2)

I asked what guidance I should give for this week and drew the Universe (World) XXI.  This card represents the ending of a cycle and the beginning of another, but we are stronger and wiser now for what we have surmounted and accomplished thus far.We are reminded by this card to celebrate our successes and to be grateful for all things, including what we perceive to be failures. "Failures" are life lessons, and the most successful people make the greatest number of mistakes--because they TRY. This card also reminds us that we must take control of our own lives and our own choices. We must also take responsibility for these, as well.

When we take the wheel of a car, we do not look in the rear view mirror the whole time we are driving. We glance back and side to side, but usually keep our eyes on what lies ahead of us. This is the way we must conduct our lives. Someone once said, "Sorry looks back, worry looksaround, faith looks up." Regret is our conscience telling us not to make that mistake again; but turn regret into gratefulness for the lesson, and there will come a release of self defeating behaviors that keep one from moving forward. Worry is imagination misused, but caution and awareness of our surroundings is healthy. Faith is the understanding that no matter what happens to us on this plane, it is all for a greater purpose. The lessons we learn here are all experienced as JOY when we return to Spirit. In Spirit we are perfect, but as humans we cannot be perfect; otherwise, we would learn nothing, accomplish nothing, and do nothing. We can, however, choose to be complete.

The drama of the World, day to day, is draining and mind-numbing. If we allow ourselves to get caught up in it all--- Passing emails back and forth about what the president is or is not doing, absorbing all the bad news on the news today, listening to those commercials that tell you that you are too old, too ugly, too fat, too tired, not cool because you don't have a blackberry and your car isn't nice enough to find a mate or .....--do you see all this negativity??--makes us have a lot of unconscious negativity. Then there is the immediate drama that comes from family, friends and co-workers....and then, there is our own negative self-talk. Are you starting to see the patterns?

First shield yourself from negativity. Don't allow yourself to be caught up in ANY drama from the outside. Secondly, deprogram your negative thought patterns into positive ones. When you start to WORRYabout the bills, smile and say, "it's okay, the money is coming in now." If you split up with your partner, give it to the Universe, forgive the other person for their trespasses as you would have them forgive you of yours, and let the Creator handle the rest. Struggling against the natural flow of things gets us about as far as running in quicksand. See the whole big picture and understand that we are all here to learn, love, create, laugh, cry, suffer, struggle, get down and get back up again. Each and every one of is equal in that way, just as we know that none of us are getting out of here alive. That being said, The World card tells us to embrace ourselves, love ourselves, live each moment to it's fullest, and remember that our attitude about life is what directs the outcome.

Page of Pentacles

Posted by Sherry Westerfield-Purnell on July 19, 2009 at 11:51 PM Comments comments (1)

I asked what guidance I should give today and drew the Page of Pentacles.

The Page of Pentacles can sometimes represent a person of Capricorn nature; i.e.: dependable, practical, persevering, cautious, methodical, ambitious, frugal and rational--or on the flip side they can be moody, rigid, cold, miserly, or a stick in the mud.

Pages can represent young people, and most importantly are usually messengers. The Page of Pentacles sometimes heralds new business opportunities, money coming in, and usually good fortune. If he were to come up in reverse, it would mean a delay in these things coming about. Either way, it's coming. The more you move yourself towards your goals, the more quickly doors open to manifest your goals.

Keep your eyes and ears open for new opportunities that are coming your way. Also take time each day to picture yourself already at the pinnacle of your success and do something each day to take action towards your goals. When you let the Universe know that you are ready, you will receive it. By taking action on your end, you take control of your future.

Today's mantra is:

I recognize opportunity everywhere I go and stay open-minded to the possibilities. I choose to dream about my future and work towards it, rather than worry over my past and run away from it.
